LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The National Football League announced its 2016 preseason schedule today, and the Washington Redskins' four-game slate features their preseason debut on the road against the Atlanta Falcons, their preseason home opener against the New York Jets, a home tilt against the Buffalo Bills and a road finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Specific times for all games will be determined at a later date. All four games will be shown locally on NBC4 and Comcast SportsNet and can be heard on the Redskins Radio Network.

The Redskins will open the preseason in Atlanta, marking the Redskins and Falcons' first preseason meeting since 2004. The Redskins hold a 10-5 advantage in the all-time preseason series between the two franchises.

The Redskins will make their FedExField preseason debut the following week against the New York Jets. The Redskins and Jets have previously met in preseason play nine times. Washington has won each of the last two preseason meetings between the two squads, including the teams' most recent preseason matchup in 2010.

The following week, the Redskins will host the Buffalo Bills for their third preseason game for a second time in the last four years. The teams last faced one another in preseason play in the third game of the 2013 preseason, with the Redskins securing a 30-7 victory at FedExField. Last year, the Redskins defeated the Bills, 35-25, at FedExField in Week 15 of the regular season.

The Redskins will conclude their preseason on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, Sept. 1. The teams met in four consecutive preseason finales across the 2011-14 seasons, with the Redskins earning wins in all four contests. Last year, the teams faced one another in regular season play, as the Redskins overcame a 24-0 deficit to record the largest come-from-behind victory in franchise history.
