The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed free agent center Kevin Matthews. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In a corresponding move, the team released center Kyle Wilborn.

Matthews (6-3, 302) originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Tennessee Titans on April 26, 2010.

He was added to the Titans' practice squad on Sept. 5, 2010, before being activated on Dec. 15, 2010. He has appeared in 17 career games with three starts, all with the Titans.

Matthews played collegiately at Texas A&M, where he appeared in 34 career games and started the final 25 games of his career.

As a senior in 2009, he earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors while helping the Aggies average 184.2 rushing yards per game.

Matthews, 26, attended Elkins H.S. in Sugar Land, Texas, where he was named to the All-Greater Houston Team in 2005. He was born on Feb. 4, 1987.

Wilborn signed with the Redskins as a college free agent on May 2, 2013.
