The Redskins have signed linebacker Robert Henson and wide receiver Marko Mitchell to rookie contracts, the team announced on Friday.

Henson was the Redskins' sixth-round pick (186th overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft, while Mitchell was selected at No. 243 overall by the Redskins.

Henson, the 6-1, 228-pounder, was a four-year starter at middle linebacker at TCU.

Last year, as a senior at TCU, Henson posted 73 tackles, one sack and two interceptions.

Henson is expected to compete for playing time at middle linebacker while also playing special teams.

Mitchell is 6-4 and 218 pounds and has good size for a wide receiver.

He led Nevada with 61 catches for 1,141 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior. He had transfered to Nevada from Mesa (Az.) Community College.

Mitchell is expected to compete for a backup wide receiver job in training camp.

With the signings of Henson and Mitchell, the Redskins have completed four of their six draft pick signings so far.

On Thursday, the Redskins signed fifth-round linebacker Cody Glenn and seventh-round fullback Eddie Williams.

Also, the Redskins have released long snapper Jeremy Cain and linebacker Tyson Smith, the team also announced on Friday.

Cain signed with the Redskins on January 2, 2009 after spending the 2008 offseason with the Tennessee Titans.

Smith signed with the Redskins on December 24, 2008 and was inactive for the Week 17 against the San Francisco 49ers.
