Redskins Sign Michael Grant to Practice Squad

The Washington Redskins announced Nov. 27 that they have signed safety Michael Grant to their practice squad.

He fills the spot vacated by Matterral Richardson, who was signed to the Houston Texans active roster. Grant will wear No. 40.

The 5-foot-11, 182-pound Grant went to training camp with Jacksonville this season after the Jaguars signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas. He also spent two weeks on Kansas City's practice squad this season from Oct. 29-Nov. 11, 2008.

Grant was a three-year letterman and two-year starter for the Razorbacks.

The 22-year-old Grant was born March 30, 1986. He attended Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Ga.
