Redskins Sign Receiver Jerry Rice Jr.

The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed free agent wide receiver Jerry Rice Jr.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Washington Redskins announce the signing of WR Jerry Rice Jr., son of Hall of Fame WR Jerry Rice, on Thursday, June 26, 2014.

Rice Jr. -- who stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 185 pounds -- had tryouts with the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers this offseason.

Rice Jr., 22, played collegiately at UCLA before transferring to UNLV where he appeared in nine games for the Rebels.

Rice Jr., son of Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice, attended Menlo H.S. in Atherton, Calif. where he earned two varsity letters playing wide receiver, defensive back and kick returner.

He was born on July 27, 1991.
