Redskins Sign Six 2014 Draft Picks

The Washington Redskins today announced they have agreed to terms with six of their eight selections from last week's 2014 NFL Draft.

Those signed were guard Spencer Long, cornerback Bashaud Breeland, wide receiver Ryan Grant, running back Lache Seastrunk, tight end Ted Bolser and kicker Zach Hocker.

Terms of those deals were not disclosed.

The Washington Redskins finalized their 2014 NFL Draft class on Saturday, selecting eight total players: two on defense, five on offense and one kicker.

Long**, a 6-foot-5, 320-pound lineman from Nebraska, was selected by the Redskins Saturday in the third round with the 78th-overall pick.

He played at Nebraska from 2009-13, blossoming from a walk-on into starting all 33 career games in which he played for the Huskers. In 2012, Long was a consensus first-team All-Big Ten honoree aſter starting every game at right guard for a second straight season and helping the Nebraska offense lead the Big Ten in both rushing offense and total offense.

Breeland, a 5-foot-11, 197-pound cornerback from Clemson, was selected by the Redskins Saturday in the fourth round with the 102nd-overall pick.

He played at Clemson from 2010-13, compiling 159 tackles (8.5 for loss), three sacks, six interceptions, 20 pass breakups and two forced fumbles across in 37 career games with 24 starts. Breeland also earned second-team All-ACC honors from the media as a junior in 2013, playing 13 games (with 12 starts) and adding 74 tackles, four picks, two sacks, a team-high 13 pass breakups 13 games (12 starts).

Grant, a 6-foot, 197-pound receiver from Tulane, was selected by the Redskins Saturday in the fifth round with the 142nd-overall pick.

He played at Tulane from 2009-13, starting 31 of the 47 games in which he appeared and finishing his career with 196 receptions for 2,769 yards and 21 touchdowns. His receptions and yardage figures finished fiſth in school history.

Seastrunk, a 5-foot-9, 210-pound running back from Baylor, was selected by the Redskins Saturday in the sixth round with the 186th-overall pick.

He played at Baylor from 2012-13 aſter transferring from Oregon and appeared in 24 games with 14 starts at for the Bears, carrying 289 times for 2,189 yards and 18 touchdowns and adding 107 receiving yards and a touchdown on nine receptions. Seastrunk earned All-Big 12 first-team honors in 2013, starting in eight of the 11 games he played and gaining a conference-high 1,177 rushing yards on 158 carries with 11 touchdowns.

Bolser, a 6-foot-5, 257-pound tight end from Indiana University, was selected by the Redskins Saturday in the sventh round with the 217th-overall pick.

He played at Indiana from 2009-13, exiting as the Hoosiers' all-time tight ends leader with 117 receptions, 1,337 yards and 15 touchdowns in 48 games played and with 37 starts. As a senior in 2013, Bolser served as team captain and notched 35 receptions (fiſth-most by an IU tight end all-time) for 320 yards with six touchdowns.

And Hocker-- who was taken in the seventh round (228th overall) in Saturday's draft -- comes to the Redskins after a very successful kicking career at Arkansas.

He appeared in 50 career games at Arkansas from 2010-13, exiting with school records for points and points by a kicker (354), field goal percentage (77.2 percent), PATs made (171), PAT attempts (173) and made field goals (61). Hocker was named second-team all-SEC by the Associated Press in 2013 aſter scoring 67 points, 28-of-28 on PATs and 13-of-15 on field goals. Three of his field goals ranked among the 15 longest in school history, including a 54-yarder.

As of Friday morning, two 2014 draft picks remained unsigned for the Redskins -- second round pick Trent Murphy (OLB, Stanford) and Morgan Moses (OT, Virginia).
