The Redskins have signed free agent kicker Clint Stitser and were awarded linebacker Thaddeus Gibson off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers, the team announced on Friday.

The Redskins also announced they have released undrafted rookie linebacker Obi Ezeh.

Stitser, 6-1 and 200 pounds, is a second-year kicker. He made his NFL debut with the Cincinnati Bengals last season, appearing in the team's final five games. He finished the season 7-of-8 on field goal attempts and 8-of-10 on extra point attempts.

Stitser, a native of Reno, Nev., played college football at Fresno State from 2004-07. He converted 37-of-52 field goal attempts and his 223 points scored rank seventh all-time in school history.

Gibson, 6-2 and 243 pounds, originally entered the NFL in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Euclid, Ohio native was waived by the Steelers on Oct. 31, 2010, and claimed by San Francisco a day later. He appeared in the 49ers' final two games of the regular season.

At Ohio State, Gibson started 23-of-35 games in three seasons, earning second-team All-Big 10 honors as a defensive end in his final campaign.
