Redskins Sign TE Todd Yoder

The Washington Redskins announced on Sept. 12 that they have signed tight end Todd Yoder to the active roster.

Yoder, 6-4 and 262 pounds, is in his seventh NFL season. Originally signed by Tampa Bay in 2000 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Vanderbilt, Yoder spent the 2005 season on injured reserve for the Jacksonville Jaguars with a knee injury.

A standout special teams performer and a physical blocking tight end, Yoder has played in a total of 73 games with 10 starts in his career and has amassed 28 receptions for 300 yards and two touchdowns. He spent his first four seasons in Tampa Bay before joining the Jaguars in 2004.

Yoder will wear jersey No. 87.

In addition, the Redskins also announced on Sept. 12 that fullback Nehemiah Broughton was released.
