The Redskins have signed rookie running back Keiland Williams to the practice squad, the team announced on Wednesday.

Also, the Redskins released linebacker Mike Balogun from the practice squad.

Williams played in the Redskins' first three regular season games and emerged as a receiving option coming out of the backfield.

He caught six passes for 29 yards in three games. He did not have a carry.

Williams was released on Oct. 2 to make room for wide receiver/kick returner Brandon Banks.

Williams earned a roster spot coming out of preseason.

He had 19 carries for 67 yards and two touchdowns in four preseason games. He was tied for third in receptions with seven for 77 yards.

Williams originally joined the Redskins last April as an undrafted rookie free agent out of LSU.
