Report: Jarvis Jenkins, Chicago Bears Agree To Deal

*The defensive line changes continue for the Redskins, as it is being reported that Jarvis Jenkins, who spent the last four seasons in Washington, is signing with the Chicago Bears. *

Brad Briggs of the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday morning that the Chicago Bears and defensive end Jarvis Jenkins have agreed to a deal.

The Bears have yet to confirm this report.

Jenkins – a four-year pro out of Clemson University – recorded 75 tackles with two sacks in three full seasons with the Washington Redskins.

Selected in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Jenkins appeared on track to be an instant contributor as a rookie, but suffered a torn ACL in a preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens.

In his return to the field during the 2012 season, Jenkins appeared in all 16 regular-season games, recording 25 tackles to help the Redskins record their first NFC East title in 13 years.

Jenkins would miss the first four games of the 2013 season after violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Jenkins would return Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

He recorded his first full sack seven weeks later on New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

During the 2014 season, Jenkins would once again appear in all 16 regular-season games, recording a career-high 28 tackles.

Defensive line changes were clearly a pointed emphasis for the Redskins this offseason, as the Redskins signed Ricky Jean Francois, Terrance Knighton and Stephen Paea early in free agency while releasing veterans Barry Cofield and Stephen Bowen.
