Robert Griffin III Sends His Love To The U.S. Women's Soccer Team

Before Robert Griffin III was drafted by the Redskins, he sent out a kind message on Twitter to U.S. Women's Soccer star Alex Morgan after meeting her. He had actually met her teammate Tobin Heath, and the mistake was quickly resolved.

It was a minor gaffe, but the start of some friendships, nonetheless, which have carried over through today.

That was found out by TMZ Sports, which peppered Griffin III in Beverly Hills Tuesday night with silly questions (of course) about the Women's team following their World Cup semi-final victory over Germany.

"I'm happy for them man, Tobin Heath, Alex Morgan, Sydney Leroux, all good friends, so I'm happy for them."

Out of the three, or the other heroes of Tuesday's game, he declined to guess who might be MVP of the team.

"It doesn't matter who the MVP is, all they've got to do is win," he said.

As for his fourth of July plans…

"I'm going back to Texas, getting some big fireworks, hanging out with my family," he said.

Everything really is bigger in Texas.
