Terence Garvin Grew Up A Redskins Fan

Crazy how things work.. Let's do it. #skins

A post shared by Terence Garvin (@terencegarvin52) on

The Redskins newly signed linebacker Terence Garvin was born on New Year's Day in 1991. That's not intended to make you feel old, or young, or perfectly normal, but to say that as a young boy growing up in Baltimore, the closest NFL affiliation he and his family had was the Redskins.

And so, on the day that Garvin posted a photo of his contract sitting on top of a Redskins jersey, he also posted a throwback photo on his Instagram, which happened to align on a Thursday (#TBT), when such photos are generally expected.

"Crazy how things work…Let's do it" Garvin captioned the photo.

Garvin stayed in Baltimore through high school, and it's probably fair to say he transitioned to a Ravens fan in that time. He was a Baltimore Sun All-Metro selection in 2008 for Loyola and was selected fro the Crab Bowl, an All-star game featuring Maryland's best high school players.

Based on his size in this photo, and the T-shirts his parents are wearing, Garvin is probably too young to remember the Redskins last Super Bowl victory in 1992.

Here's to him remembering another one soon – still wearing burgundy and gold.
