Terence Garvin grew up in Baltimore and he's listed as a linebacker in the NFL, but as a high school kid who played safety and someone who initially grew up as a Redskins fan, Sean Taylor was always the player Garvin tried to replicate.
"I loved Sean Taylor, I was a Sean Taylor fanatic," Garvin said on "Redskins Nation." "I liked Ed Reed, I liked Troy Polamalu, of course, Ray Lewis..."
That a young defensive player grew up idolizing Sean Taylor is very familiar territory. Su'a Cravens, the Redskins' second round draft pick feels the same way about No. 21, as did Dashon Goldson the year before. The list goes on.
It's more of a tribute to just how good Taylor really was, and how much he was revered in his short life.
"He played the game how you're supposed to," Garvin said, "angry, violent, but he still played fast and smart. I love looking up to him…I really grew up watching him, that was somebody I really wanted to play like, always come hit people and just the whole vibe, I loved his game."
