After months of speculation, the 2024 NFL Draft is here, and by the time the weekend is done, the Washington Commanders will have nine new players on their roster.

This is the first draft of the new era in Commanders football. Adam Peters is leading a front office that is dedicated to finding players who best fit head coach Dan Quinn's vision for the franchise. They have nine picks to do so, including the No. 2 overall pick and six picks in the top 100.

Below is a list of every Washington pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. You can also stay up to date on all Washington's draft news at the **Commanders 2024 draft hub.**

Round 1 (No. 2 overall)

The Washington Commanders have selected LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Daniels, who started his college career at Arizona State before transferring to LSU, completed 65% of his passes for 12,749 yards with 89 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. Daniels also adds dynamic ability as a runner, ranking first among quarterbacks in 2023 with 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The 2023 Heisman winner had a stellar end to his time with the Tigers. On top of ranking third in program history in total offense and fourth in career passing yards, Daniels finished fifth among all quarterbacks last season with 3,812 yards and second in passing touchdowns. He is the only player in FBS history to pass for 12,000 yards and rush for 3,000 yards.

Round 2 (No. 36 overall)

The Washington Commanders have selected Illinois defensive tackle Jer'Zhan Newton with the No. 36 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Newton, a First Team All-American in 2023, was a stalwart for the Illini during his four-year career, recording 188 tackles and 18 sacks.

"Active interior defender with the potential to build on his disruptive production in college," **wrote NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein.** "Newton's size and length don't stand out, but he has shown a consistent ability to gain extension and set edges against bigger opponents. Newton is clever in setting up blockers and then beating them with sudden hand usage and foot quickness as both a run defender and a pass rusher."

A team captain in 2023, Newton was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, leading the team with 7.5 sacks. He was the only defensive lineman named as a finalist for the Nagurski Trophy finalist as one of the top five defenders in college football.

Round 2 (No. 50 overall)

The Washington Commanders have selected Michigan Mike Sainristil with the No. 50 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Sainristil got his college career started as a wide receiver. During his first three seasons at Michigan, he featured in 33 games as a wideout, and then in 2022 he made the position switch that would eventually see him get his name called tonight in Detroit.

In his final two seasons for the Wolverines, team captain Sainristil emerged as a reliable cornerback presence and was named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten Conference. He built on that success during his final campaign in Ann Arbor. Starting in all 15 games during Michigan's run to the CFP National Championship, he was tied for third in the FBS for six interceptions (two returned for TDs). Sainristil wrapped up his collegiate career with a natty, a Second Team All-Big Ten Conference nod and First-Team All-America honors.

Round 2 (No. 53 overall)

The Washington Commanders have drafted Kansas State tight end Ben Sinnott with the No. 53 overall pick.

Sinnott (6-foot-4, 250 pounds) was Mel Kiper Jr.'s best available tight end in Day 2. A four-year contributor for Kansas State, Sinnott caught 82 passes for 1,138 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was a Third Team All-American and First Team All-Big 12 selection.

"Athletic F tight end with an ability to add value in the passing game and handle some blocking duties in space," wrote NFL.com's Lance Zierlein. "The former walk-on has added 40 pounds to his frame without losing his speed or agility. He's an adequate route runner with the quickness to compete against man coverage on all three levels and get additional yards after the catch."

Round 3 (No. 67 overall)

The Washington Commanders have selected TCU tackle Brandon Coleman with the 67th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Coleman (6-foot-4, 313 pounds) got his start at Trinity Valley Community College before making the jump to the FBS in 2020. His first season with the Horned Frogs was spent getting his feet wet at the right tackle spot but it was in his subsequent three campaigns that Coleman flourished at the left tackle spot. In 2022, he started all 15 games at left tackle on TCU's run to the national championship and picked up Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors. Coleman capped off his career at TCU by being named Second-Team All-Big 12 and Honorable Mention Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year. Notably, he allowed just one sack over 723 snaps.

"Three-year starter and team captain in 2023 with outstanding length and the potential to offer roster flexibility," wrote NFL.com's Lance Zierlein. "Coleman's experience at tackle helps his chances of protecting NFL quarterbacks as a guard. He pass protects with efficient hands and sound technique."

Round 3 (No. 100 overall)

The Washington Commanders have selected Rice wide receiver Luke McCaffrey with the 100th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.

McCaffrey (6-foot-2, 198 pounds) started his career at Nebraska before joining the Owls in 2022. A First Team All-American in the American Athletic Conference, McCaffrey set career highs in receptions (71), yards (992) and touchdowns (13).

"Big slot target who comes from high-end NFL bloodlines and who showed noticeable improvement in his second season at the position," wrote NFL.com's Lance Zierlein. "Luke lacks the size of his father, former Pro Bowl receiver Ed McCaffrey, and the explosiveness of his brother, Offensive Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey, but he catches with soft hands, great focus and extreme toughness."

Round 5 (No. 139 overall)

The Washington Commanders have selected Temple linebacker Jordan Magee with the 139th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Yet another college team captain joins the Burgundy & Gold's ranks. Magee (6-foot-1, 228 pounds) got a lot of good experience while at Temple, rising as a starter in 2021. However, he took his game to a new level in 2022 and 2023. That junior season, he lead the Owls with 86 tackles in 12 games. Then, in his final campaign, he not only led the team with 80 tackles and 14 TFLs but tied the team lead with 3.5 sacks.

"Magee lacks ideal size but plays with good strength and aggression and is able to bounce off bigger bodies to find his way to tackle tries from challenging angles," wrote NFL.com's Lance Zierlein. "He has a good early trigger."

Round 5 (No. 161 overall)

The Washington Commanders have drafted University of Washington safety Dominique Hampton with the 161st overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Hampton (6-foot-2, 215 pounds) spent six seasons with the Huskies and was a major contributor for five. He had to wait until 2022 to be a full-time starter, but he made the most of his opportunities with 151 tackles and 11 pass breakups. He was an Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 selection in 2023.

"Hampton is big, fast and long, and defensive coordinators can work with that. He's more comfortable operating as a read-and-react high safety than in man coverage," wrote NFL.com's Lance Zierlein. "Hampton's traits and potential could sway a team to take him on Day 3 and develop him into an average backup with core special teams value."

Round 7 (No. 222 overall)

The Washington Commanders have selected Notre Dame DE Javontae Jean-Baptiste with the 222nd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jean-Baptiste (6-foot-5, 239 pounds) was a consistent contributor at Ohio State for four seasons before moving to Notre Dame for his final collegiate campaign. During 2023, the defensive end started 12 out of 13 games and led the team in both tackles for loss (10.5) and sacks (5).

"After a five-year run at Ohio State with modest production, Jean-Baptiste's Notre Dame tape has put him in position to become a developmental Day 3 draft pick," wrote NFL.com's Lance Zierlein. "He'll need to hit the weights to improve his anchor, but he has the footwork and agility to slide off of block sustain and make tackles."
