Vinny Cerrato Tuesday Press Conference

On assessing the first seven weeks:
"Frustrating and disappointing seeing that we are 2-5. I'm disappointed. Dan Snyder is disappointed for the fans. Everybody is disappointed for the fans. We need to regroup during this bye week and come out for the last nine games and improve."

On being surprised about the lack of production the backup offensive line has had:
"We tried to address the line. We added Derrick Dockery and Mike Williams and when we were in the draft this past year there was nobody at 13. Are we having the results that we want? No, we don't want to have sacks. With Chris Samuels and Randy Thomas in there, would we be better? Absolutely. If you lose a Pro Bowler it's going to drop at that position because you can't replace them."

On thinking about the depth being acceptable going in to the season:
"Yes, look at the depth around the league. Nobody has a Pro Bowler to replace a Pro Bowler. Look at Philadelphia Eagles last week. They lost an offensive lineman and the Eagles gave up six sacks against the Oakland Raiders. When you lose some quality players, it's always going to be a drop off."

On the change in play calling producing the results wanted:
"We didn't win. But I think that Sherman Lewis provided a spark and the offense did some good things. I think Fred Davis and Devin Thomas had a chance to do some things offensively. He did a good job with the time that he had to prepare."
On Jason Campbell:
"We are 2-5 and I think we have to get better in a lot of areas. I think with Jason he just has to be consistent."

On this season compared to Joe Gibbs' first year back in 2004 being 2-5:
"It's probably the most frustrating this year because of the inability to score points."

On evaluating the coaching staff over the next nine games:
"We have to look at everybody and everything. We just have to go out and get better day to day and week to week. That's what it is about, getting better each game. One game at a time, one day at a time. We have to get better in practice and improve fundamentally. Each game we have to come out and win."
