SELECTION:** Malik Hooker, Safety, Ohio State

DATE OF SELECTION:April 27, 2017

PREVIOUS SELECTION(S):

  • Christian McCaffrey; Running Back, Stanford (April 4)
  • Dalvin Cook, Running Back, Florida State (Feb. 15)
  • Malik Hooker, Safety, Ohio State (Jan. 19)

ANALYSIS:"The Redskins are moving Su'a Cravens, last year's second-round pick, to safety, but he's an in-the-box guy. They still need a center fielder, and Hooker is a ball hawk. He had seven interceptions -- three for touchdowns -- in his lone season as a starter."

ANALYSIS:"The Redskins could trade back and try to still get Cook. He fills a huge need on their offense and has game-breaking ability. The two concerns: his history of shoulder issues and the people he surrounds himself with."

ANALYSIS: "Assuming he falls because of the off-field issues, the Redskins seem like a logical landing spot for the super-talented linebacker."

SELECTION: Charles Harris; Defensive End/Linebacker, Missouri

DATE OF SELECTION: April 27, 2017

PREVIOUS SELECTION(S):

  • Mike Williams; Wide Receiver, Clemson (April 17)
  • Forrest Lamp, Offensive Lineman, Western Kentucky (March 30)
  • Budda Baker; Safety, Washington  (Feb. 15)

ANALYSIS: "They have to get better rushing the passer and Harris is the guy who could do that. He is a player scouts have really pumped up to me in recent weeks."

Take a look at photos of Alabama linebacker, Reuben Foster.

SELECTION:* *Reuben Foster; Linebacker, Alabama

DATE OF SELECTION: April 27, 2017

PREVIOUS SELECTION(S):

  • Gareon Conley; Cornerback, Ohio State (April 17)
  • Malik McDowell; Defensive Lineman, Michigan State (March 27)

ANALYSIS: "The pre-draft process has not gone well for Foster who falls out of the top 15, but the Redskins would be a nice landing spot, answering Washington's need for a thumper at linebacker."

EXPERT: Rob Rang; CBS Sports (click here for full article)

Take a look at photos of Alabama linebacker, Reuben Foster.

SELECTION: **Reuben Foster; Linebacker, Alabama

DATE OF SELECTION: April 27, 2017

PREVIOUS SELECTION(S):

  • Zach Cunningham; Linebacker, Vanderbilt (Feb. 8)

ANALYSIS: "The Redskins surrendered an average of nearly 120 yards per game on the ground in 2016 and only three teams (the Chargers, Bills and 49ers) allowed more than their 19 rushing touchdowns. Foster was kicked out of the combine after a run-in with medical personnel but his talent is undeniable. Possessing remarkable closing speed and the physicality to intimidate, he could prove a steal at this point in the draft."

EXPERT: Chris Burke; Sports Illustrated (click here for full article)

SELECTION: Charles Harris; Defensive End/Outside Linebacker, Missouri

DATE OF SELECTION: April 20, 2017

PREVIOUS SELECTION(S):

  • Zach Cunningham; Linebacker, Vanderbilt (March 22)
  • Derek Barnett; Defensive End, Tennessee (Feb. 8)
  • Solomon Thomas; Defensive Lineman, Stanford (Jan. 3)
  • Malik McDowell; Defensive Lineman, Michigan State (March 29)

ANALYSIS: "Washington doesn't need to draft an edge rusher just because Trent Murphy will open the season on a four-game suspension. But it might draft one because there wasn't much depth there in the first place. Harris can get after the QB and seems comfortable in space."

Take a look at photos of Alabama linebacker, Reuben Foster.

SELECTION:** Reuben Foster; Linebacker, Alabama

DATE OF SELECTION: April 25, 2017

PREVIOUS SELECTION(S):

  • Chris Wormley; Defensive Lineman, Michigan (Feb. 1)
  • Zach Cunningham; Linebacker, Vanderbilt (Feb. 8)
  • Forrest Lamp; Guard, Western Kentucky (April 5)
  • Gareon Conley; Cornerback, Ohio State (April 25)

ANALYSIS: "Gareon Conley was slotted here in a previous version. It really sounded like the Redskins were going to select him, but that's no longer the case in the wake of the rape allegations.

The Redskins could go with another cornerback like Adoree Jackson or Kevin King, or perhaps Charles Harris. However, Reuben Foster is way too good to pass up at this juncture. He has dropped a bit in the wake of testing positive at the combine, but given the big need at inside linebacker, I don't think the Redskins pass on him at No. 17."

EXPERT: Charlie Campbell; WalterFootball (click here for full article)

SELECTION: Charles Harris, Defensive Lineman, Missouri

DATE OF SELECTION:April 17, 2017

PREVIOUS SELECTION(S):

  • Reuben Foster, Linebacker, Alabama (April 17)
  • Adoree' Jackson; Cornerback, USC (April 10)
  • Tre'Davious White; Cornerback, LSU (March 27)
  • Jabrill Peppers; Safety, Michigan (March 13)
  • Reuben Foster, Linebacker, Alabama (March 6)
  • Taco Charlton; Defensive Lineman, Michigan (Feb. 20)
  • Solomon Thomas; Defensive Lineman, Stanford (Feb. 8)
  • Chris Wormley; Defensive Lineman, Michgan (Jan. 26)
  • Malik McDowell; Defensive Lineman, Michigan State (Jan. 13)

ANALYSIS: "Based off some information, I think Washington's pick could come down to Reuben Foster, Marlon Humphrey, Adoree' Jackson, Haason Reddick, or Charles Harris. If Foster gets to their pick, I think the Redskins would be thrilled as he is their first choice. After Foster, I think there will be a big debate between the others. I think the deciscion would come down to Harris or Jackson. This is a deep cornerback draft, so Washington could lean toward the rusher with its first pick. Additionally, Harris is loved by teams for his football character.

Harris started off the 2016 season with underwhelming performances against West Virginia and Eastern Michigan, totaling five tackles in those games. However, he exploded versus Georgia with three sacks and seven tackles. In November, Harris grew red hot, racking up 4.5 sacks over two games. He totaled 61 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, two passes batted and two forced fumbles on the year.

Harris is a speedy edge rusher who broke out in 2015 with 56 tackles, 18.5 tackles for a loss, seven sacks and two forced fumbles. He was a backup as a redshirt freshman in 2014 and notched two sacks. The 6-foot-3, 253-pound Harris is a fast edge rusher who puts a lot of heat on the quarterback. He is very similar to Vic Beasley and Shane Ray."

Take a look at photos of Florida State running back, Dalvin Cook.

SELECTION:** Dalvin Cook; Running Back, Florida State

DATE OF SELECTION: April 24, 2017

PREVIOUS SELECTION(S):

  • Leonard Fournette; Running Back, LSU (Jan. 18)

ANALYSIS: "While Washington doesn't have to draft a running back in the first round, Cook is a good fit as he brings big-play potential that consistently showed up on tape despite a subpar showing at the combine. He led the nation with 90 missed tackles forced in 2016 and his game speed makes him a weapon in the passing game. Cook's game is a good combination of big-play ability and short-area feel that allows for maximizing his run blocking on any given play and he should have an immediate impact behind Washington's ever-improving offensive line."

SELECTION:** Reuben Foster; Linebacker, Alabama

DATE OF SELECTION:April 26, 2017

  • Malik McDowell; Defensive Lineman, Michigan State (March 7)
  • Budda Baker; Safety, Washington (Feb. 22)
  • Charlton; Defensive Lineman, Michigan (Feb. 6)

ANALYSIS: "I still see Foster as a first-round pick tonight. He was too good at Alabama to drop that far."

Check out these photos of North Carolina Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

SELECTION:** Mitch Trubisky; Quarterback, North Carolina

DATE OF SELECTION:April 26, 2017

PREVIOUS SELECTION(S):

  • Corey Davis, Wide Reciver, Western Michigan 9March 7)
  • John Ross; Wide Receiver, Washington (Jan. 4)

ANALYSIS:"To land Trubisky, a team might need to get into the top 10. Why not Washington, a franchise with a history of splash? The Redskins can't afford the franchise tag carousel with Kirk Cousins forever. Trubisky is the most consistent and accurate passer of this crop, but he still might need some grooming after only 13 starts at UNC. Let Trubisky sit one year behind Cousins, then reap the (less expensive) rewards. *Trade with Jets."

EXPERT:Luke Easterling; USA Today (click here for full article)

SELECTION:Jonathan Allen; Defensive Lineman, Alabama

DATE OF SELECTION:April 17, 2017

PREVIOUS SELECTION(S):

  • Dalvin Cook; Running Back, Florida State (April 3)
  • Mitchell Trubisky; Quarterback, North Carolina (March 10)
  • Christian McCaffrey; Running Back, Stanford (Feb. 20)
  • Dalvin Cook, Running Back, Florida State (Feb. 6)

ANALYSIS:"Washington could go in many different directions here, and it's tough to project what that front office will do. That said, if Allen is still on the board here, it likely makes their decision much easier. Even with a sub-par combine and concerns over the long-term health of his shoulder, Allen is a top-10 talent who would be an absolute steal this late."

EXPERT:Matt Miller; Bleacher Report (click here for full article)

Check out photos of Alabama defensive lineman Jonathan Allen.

SELECTION: **Jonathan Allen; Defensice Lineman, Alabama

DATE OF SELECTION:April 27, 2017

PREVIOUS SELECTION(S):

  • Haason Reddick; Linebacker, Temple (April 17)
  • Jonathan Allen; Defensice Lineman, Alabama (March 7)
  • Malik McDowell; Defensive Lineman, Michigan State (Feb. 6)
  • Christian McCaffrey; Running Back, Stanford (Feb. 2)

ANALYSIS:"Jonathan Allen seemed like a lock for the top five when the 2016 college football season ended, but concerns about his lack of athleticism and his shoulder injuries—which have resulted in arthritis—have pushed him down the board. A team like Indianapolis or Baltimore could stop his slide in a best-player-available situation, but Washington also has a massive need for a new 5-technique defensive end.

Allen is a baller and truly one of the most explosive players in college football last season—if I had a Heisman Trophy vote, he would have been my winner—and that's too good to pass up here in the middle of the first round. If team doctors have signed off on Allen, he's a steal at this spot."
