What Does 'Grace And Grit' Mean To First Lady Candess?

First Lady Redskins Cheerleader Jade sat down with the Redskins 2018-2019 Pro Bowl Cheerleader Candess in this weeks discussion of "With Grace and Grit!"

During her journey to becoming a First Lady of Football, Candess has put in long hours both in the studio, and with her teammates and coaches that ultimately earned her first Pro-Bowl cheerleader selection. As a child, Candess began performing early in life as a member of Capitol Movement's Pre-professional dance company. After graduating high school she then made the short trip up I-95 to dance for the University of Maryland's Dance team. Things quickly became a whirlwind when Candess decided she wanted to audition to the Pro-cheer world, graduate, and start a career in one month. While juggling all three of those entities was not easy, Candess prided herself on her inner grit.

As the 2018-2019 Pro-Bowl Cheerleader Candess exuded the qualities of a First Lady of Football. No stranger to exquisite performance and hyping up fans, Candess experienced her own internal battle as many do within the audition process. After watching veterans and studying the lay of the land in prep classes, Candess was able to shift her perspective to focusing on her "individuality." As a First Lady, she wants other women to focus on their own "self-worth," and says that "valuing yourself are the first steps to owning your individuality."
