If linebacker Will Compton doesn't already show enough enthusiasm on the field, a turn as his hometown school district's mascot let him go even crazier.

Helping motivate an elementary school in Bonne Terre, Mo., for an upcoming standardized test, Compton surprised students in attendance by donning the school's Rowdy Raider mascot costume.

Of course, they didn't know Compton was under the helmet until he took it off, enlivening the pep rally and sending the kids into a frenzy.

In late January, Compton joined his family as he was presented the Hometown Hero Award for doing something out of the ordinary, given to him by the Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce.

And in February, the linebacker spoke  to a wrestling team at local Farmington High School to discuss the psychology of sports and pump up the team before a big tournament.

So, if you're a school and you need motivation, Compton should probably be on your speed dial.
