WRCF And Redskins Salute To Host Multiple Events For Salute To Service Week

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Redskins Salute, official military appreciation club, will host multiple events throughout the D.C. Metro area for the annual Salute to Service Week beginning Monday, Nov. 6. The week will lead into the team's Salute to Service game on Sunday, Nov. 12, presented by USAA, Official Military Appreciation Sponsor of the Redskins. Upcoming events include:

5th Annual Salute to Play 60 Combine (Monday, Nov. 6)

Location: Ft. Belvoir – Pullen Field (9637 Belvoir Rd. Fort Belvoir, Va. 22060)

Event Time: 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

One hundred children from military families from Ft. Belvoir will be invited to rotate through six different activity stations with appearances from current and former Redskins players.

BBQ Meet and Greet (Tuesday, Nov. 7)

Location: Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C. (8th and I Streets SE, Washington, D.C. 20003)

Event Time: 11:15 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Redskins will provide complimentary lunch at the Marine Barracks with special appearances by the Redskins Cheerleaders, lawn games, music, exclusive giveaway and a raffle drawing.

Pros vs. GI Joes Presented by Xbox and EA Sports (Wednesday, Nov. 8)

Location: Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall USO Honor Guard Lounge (228 McNair Rd #405, Fort Myer, Va. 22211)

Event Time: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Active duty members will go head-to-head against Redskins alumni Santana Moss and Fred Smoot in a Madden 18 gaming tournament. One grand prize winner will receive an Xbox One.

Salute to Redskins Read (Thursday, Nov. 9)

Location: Joint Base Andrews Youth Center (4700 Yuma Rd. Joint Base Andrews, Md. 20762)

Event Time: 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

WRCF will host more than 100 military children and families for a "Redskins Read Boot Camp" featuring reading stations and activities. Each child in attendance will also have the opportunity to select one new book to take home to their personal library.
