Wrist Injury Could Sideline Daniels

Phillip Daniels' status remains uncertain as he continues to recover from a dislocated bone in his left wrist suffered in Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Daniels is expected to see an arm and wrist specialist on Tuesday. His status will be determined following that evaluation, team officials said.

Daniels, a 10-year NFL veteran who had signed with the Redskins last offseason, had just returned to the lineup after missing the three previous games with a groin injury.

"I feel so bad for him," head coach Joe Gibbs said. "There's an example of a guy who really didn't have to play this week. He should have played next week. It just hasn't gone well for him all year. He's a heck of a football player for fighting through the injuries."

On Sunday, Daniels recorded a sack on the game's first series, tackling Eli Manning as the pocket collapsed around the rookie quarterback. It was Daniels' first sack of the season.

If Daniels' season is over, he will become the ninth Redskins placed on the Injured Reserve list this season.
