Kavan Latham enters his eighth NFL season and fifth season with Washington's strength and conditioning staff in 2020.
Latham returned to Washington as an assistant strength and conditioning coach on January 23, 2017, after previously serving as a strength and conditioning intern for the team in 2013.
Before returning to Washington, Latham spent three seasons with the New York Jets, first serving as a strength and conditioning intern in 2014. He was then hired as an assistant strength and conditioning coach during Todd Bowles' first season in New York, a 10-6 campaign in 2015.
Latham is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach (USAW). He also holds Precision Nutrition Level 1 (Pn1) and Fascial Stretch Therapy Level 1 (FST1) certifications.
Prior to entering the NFL, Latham completed strength and conditioning internships at Rutgers (2011), St. Joseph's (2012) and Temple (2012).
In addition, he contributed as an assistant coach at his alma mater, The College of New Jersey, during those two years. In addition to playing four years as a defensive tackle at The College of New Jersey from 2007-10, Latham also competed in the discus, hammer throw and shot put during his college career. He earned his bachelor's degree in health and exercise science.
He married his wife, Sara, in March 2018.
