David Whittington enters his 15th season with Washington in 2023. Whittington most recently oversaw scouting operations in the Southwest region before being promoted to the position of national scout during the 2019 offseason.
Prior to becoming an area scout, he spent two seasons serving as the team's BLESTO scout, as well as assisting with scouting college players in the Northeast region. He spent 2009 as an intern in the personnel department, where he assisted both the college and pro scouts with advance scouting. He also coordinated free agent and college player visits.
Whittington was a three-year letter winner at Vanderbilt where he played fullback and defensive line and was a member of the 2007 Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll. He graduated from Vanderbilt in 2008 with a degree in human and organizational development.
Whittington is originally from Lafayette, La., and currently resides in Houston, Texas, with his wife, Lauren, his son, Halston, and his daughter, Olivia.
