2016 (GIANTS): Started all 16 games and the NFC Wild Card game… Led the team in tackles for a consecutive season with 125 (100 solo), the most by a safety in Giants history… Also had five interceptions, 4.0 sacks and 13 passes defensed… Became the first NFL safety with over 100 tackles, at least five interceptions and at least 3.0 sacks since Rodney Harrison, then with San Diego Chargers, in 2000… Was the only NFL player in 2016 with at least five interceptions and at least 4.0 sacks… Named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performances in Week 7 against the LAR in London with two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, and eight solo tackles, and in Week 9 vs. PHI with 12 tackles and an interception… Named NFC Defensive Player of the Week in consecutive games, the first NYG player to do so and the first player in the NFL to achieve the feat since Charles Tillman in 2012, and the first safety since Troy Polamalu in 2010… Was the only NFL player to lead his team in tackles, sacks and interceptions… First Giants player with at least four interceptions and 3.0 sacks in the same season since cornerback Jason Sehorn in 1996… Named NFC Defensive (6 solo) and sacked Wentz for a 12-yard loss. COLLEGE: Played collegiately at Alabama from 2012-15, where he appeared in 41 games with 23 starts… Compiled 190 career tackles (120 solo), 8.5 stops for losses of 22 yards, 4 fumble recoveries, 5 interceptions for 103 return yards, 13 yards on a blocked punt return and 55 yards on three kickoff returns… Also deflected 13 passes and forced three fumbles… Named a unanimous first-team All-America selection by The NFL Draft Report, Walter Camp, Football Writers Association, AP and Sporting News, in his junior and final collegiate season… First-team All-SEC selection by the AP and league coaches… Finalist for the Jim Thorpe and Bronko Nagurski Awards… Started all 14 games at strong safety and led the team with 103 tackles (60 solo), including 4.5 stops for losses of 15 yards with one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries, seven pass deflections and three interceptions for 14 yards in returns… Also returned three kickoffs for 55 yards… Became the ninth defensive back to lead the Crimson Tide in tackles during a season… His 103 stops broke the school position record of 94 tackles by Rashad Johnson in 2007… Played in 13 games with nine starts in his sophomore campaign, six at strong safety and three at dime back… Finished second on the team with 70 tackles (52 solo), two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 10 special teams tackles… Intercepted two passes, including one returned for an 89-yard touchdown vs. Tennessee, the fifth-longest return in school history… Played all games as a reserve his freshman season, recording 17 tackles (8 solo) and blocking a punt that he advanced 13 yards.
PERSONAL: Attended Dutchdown H.S. in Geismar, La., where he was a first-team All-America defensive back… Rushed for 1,218 yards and 21 touchdowns on just 87 carries (14.0-yard avg.) his senior season with 34 tackles and four interceptions, returning two for scores in the defensive backfield… Became first player in LSWA history to earn 5A All-State honors on both sides of the ball… Earned All-America honors by Parade and USA Today… Posted 102 tackles and intercepted four passes as a junior, earning a Class 5A All-State selection by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association… Also competed in track as one of the state's top sprinters… Ran the second leg on the 4x100-meter squad (2011) setting a new school record at 41.10 seconds… Won the 100-meter dash at the 2012 Episcopal 4-Way Championships, with a person-best time of 10.28 seconds… Posted a career-best time of 21.60 seconds in the 200-meter dash… Majored in sports studies… Son of April Justin and Thomas Collins… Born Jan. 10, 1994.
COMMUNITY: In 2019, launched Landon Collins' Humble Path Foundation, with the goal of enhancing our youth by rebuilding our communities and instilling the importance of education, physical and social needs. The Humble Path Foundation has provided numerous donations to schools and hospitals. Partnered with the Boys & Girls Club to to help equip students with tools for the upcoming school year... Hosts the Landon Collins Softball Game annually to benefit St. Christopher's Inc., a non-profit, non-sectarian social service agency who serves at-risk adolescents… Represented Nick's Kid Foundation during the NFL's "My Cause My Cleats" initiative… Partnered with Americares and traveled to Puerto Rico on a three-day trip to deliver aid and medical supplies to areas affected by Hurricane Maria.
