The Washington Redskins are extremely excited to see what rookie linebacker Su'a Cravens can do this season.

The great thing about Cravens is that he can do a lot of things on the football field, and he's really good at them - hence the team's through-the-roof excitement level.

NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah is also looking forward to seeing Cravens continue to develop and be impactful for the Redskins in 2016. Jeremiah recently released his first set of rookie rankings, and Cravens came in at No. 12 on his Top 20 list.

Here's what Jeremiah had to say about Cravens:

"Su’a] Cravens moved all over the field in at USC, but he's settled in nicely at linebacker for the [Redskins," Jeremiah said. "He oozes with instincts and attacks ball carriers in a hurry. He has the athleticism to match up with tight ends and running backs in coverage and also has established himself as an asset on special teams. His versatility will prove to be a very valuable asset to the Redskins' defense this fall."

Cravens has already shown that he can be an asset for Washington with his preseason play. He had 12 tackles (three for loss), one quarterback hit, one pass defensed and one special teams tackle.

Overall, head coach Jay Gruden was pleased with Cravens' output in those four games.

"I thought it was good," Gruden said. "I think there are some things he [Cravens] can clean up like all rookies, like everyone in the preseason. Really, I like his energy, man. I think you can feel him out there, see him making plays and he's around the ball a lot which is good to see. We've just got to keep coaching him up and he's going to be a heck of a player for us, especially in those nickel situations. He's a good blitzer, he can cover and obviously he can tackle."

Gruden and his coaches see a lot of ways they can move Cravens around inside the defense in order to maximize his seemingly limitless potential. One way they've done that is by working Cravens in at safety on the scout team.

"We take these scout team reps, we try to develop our players on our scout team also," Gruden said. "Even though they are doing a card, we can put people in different situations and see how they move around in space and do some things. We can still translate our calls to what the scout team are doing. I think it is good to start him at safety a little bit, maybe put him at nickel some a little bit, but his main focus is going to be on inside linebacker right now, but we are slowly starting to branch him off in different areas."
