Before Redskins head coach Jay Gruden could officially deliver the news about safety DeAngelo Hall's ACL injury, Hall took to Twitter with an inspirational message for all of his followers.

Of course the Virginia Tech football team - whom Hall played for from 2001-03 - was quick to respond to his social media post with a few of their own.

Virginia Tech head football coach Justin Fuente did a very classy thing during his Monday press conference. Fuente took time out to talk about Hall, and what an impact Hall's made on him and the entire university well after he moved onto the NFL.

"Our thoughts are with him," Fuente said. "He's obviously been a fantastic ambassador for Virginia Tech, let alone a great player and a great personality. I had a chance to meet him earlier in the year. He's such a nice man."
