With a 16-13 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars at TIAA Bank Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla., the Redskins became just the fifth team in NFL history to record 600 regular season victories. Washington joined the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers as the only franchises in the NFL history to accomplish the feat. Head Coach Jay Gruden presented Owner Daniel Snyder with a game ball following the victory.

Former Washington Redskins General Manager Bobby Beathard was enshrined in Canton, Ohio at the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2018. Beathard helped guide the franchise to three Super Bowl appearances, including victories in Super Bowl XVII and XXII during his 11 year tenure. In his 11 seasons as general manager the Redskins posted a .625 winning percentage, which was the best mark in the NFC and second best mark in the NFL in that span.

After 31 years, the Redskins honor replacement players from the team's 1987 squad with Super Bowl rings in a ceremony at Inova Sports Performance Center at Redskins Park. Charley Casserly, who served as the Redskins' Assistant General Manager in 1987 and helped build the replacement squad, hosted the event and welcomed more than 25 players in attendance. The ceremony culminated with the surprise appearance of 1987 Super Bowl champions Doug Williams, Gary Clark, and Dexter Manley, who joined the replacement players for a group photo.

Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, guard Brandon Scherff and tackle Trent Williams all earn Pro Bowl honors. Together, Scherff and Williams became the first Redskins offensive line duo collectively named to the Pro Bowl in consecutive seasons since the duo of Russ Grimm and Joe Jacoby earned selections four straight times following the 1983-86 seasons.
