Commanders x Vet Tix

While moments like the visit to Walter Reed Military Hospital and the annual pack Pack4Troops event are always highlights on the Washington Salute slate, one of this year's most impactful military giveback initiatives was a brand new experience for the Burgundy & Gold.

During the 2023 season, the Commanders work with Vet Tix got off to an incredible start as the team donated 6,045 game tickets and 72 VIP training camp tickets to members of the armed forces and veterans. As both these organizations are committed to engaging military members and offering opportunities for them to experience lifelong memories, the Commanders and Vet Tix have scored a touchdown with this partnership.

Situated in the National Capital Region, the Burgundy & Gold shares a home with the country's largest community of active military personnel, veterans, retirees and their families. These heroes stand as a constant reminder of the bravery and sacrifice required to secure our freedoms, and Washington has long felt compelled to say "thank you" to these folks at every turn.

Since its inception, Vet Tix has thought about the emotional and mental wellbeing of our veterans and their families in a unique way. The nonprofit has recognized that an event like a football game – with its fun atmosphere and the chance it creates for bonding – can help vets with reintegration into their communities and families. That's huge when considering that 44% of veterans experience challenges re-adjusting.

Knowing the tens of thousands of service members in the DMV who could have their lives positively impacted, the Commanders couldn't have been more honored to link arms with Vet Tix in 2023.  This past year marked an exciting beginning for this partnership, and Washington looks forward to continuing its support of this noble cause for seasons to come.
